Kate Demolder

This is the second time an incident of this nature has been reported to Gardaí this week.

Gardaí are investigating a case which involved the alleged sexual assault of a young woman in County Carlow.

The young woman told Gardaí that she was approached by three men in the Bagenalstown area of Carlow and sexually assaulted.

The incident is reported to have happened at around 2am on Monday June 4.

The reported incident bears striking similarity to an alleged assault case which happened in Kildare earlier in the week.

The injured party, a woman in her early twenties, alleged that she was walking home when she was assaulted and raped by three men in Clane, County Kildare.

Gardaí have confirmed that “Investigations are ongoing.”

They are also urging that anyone with anyone information should contact them at either Naas Garda Station on 045 884300, Bagenalstown Garda Station on 059 774120, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
