PODCAST: ‘This is Ireland… we have celebrity mattress salesmen, you can’t just do one thing’

Niamh Maher

Episode 12 of The Capital B is here and we’re all cracking up.

Presenter Nick Webb is taking on comedy this week asking the big business questions that no comedian has ever answered… Can you make any cash on the comedy circuit? Why didn’t you get a real job? And aren’t you absolutely knackered?

PJ Gallagher is one of of Ireland’s most recognisable comedians… turns out he’s pretty savvy when it comes to business too. The funny man sits down with Nick to discuss creating his own brand, he reveals where the cold hard comedy cash truly lies (it’s not where you think), and he talks about sticking his hands in all the pots to get ahead.

On the panel this week, venture capitalist Brian Caulfield and film producer with Treasure Entertainment Rebecca O’Flanagan discuss the struggles facing comedians with the influx of digital media.

And Aidan Bishop from The International tells Nick how the Irish weather HELPS comedy and how much people are willing to pay for a good belly laugh.
