Mexico weren't having it, so he's bringing the wall to Clare

Determined to battle anything that moves, US President Donald Trump is taking on the Atlantic Ocean's storms now after he received permission to build a sea defence at his Trump International Golf Links and Hotel, Doonbeg, Co. Clare. Approved by Clare County Council, the man-made dunes will protect the first, ninth and 18th holes of his course from erosion, covering 600m at the south end of Doughmore Bay and 250m at the north end. In recent years, winter storms have eroded several metres of beach and dune by the exclusive golf resort. Clare County Council said the decision can be appealed within four weeks, while full details on the application will be made public on 22 December via the council's webpage. Commenting on the decision, Joe Russell, general manager at the hotel and golf resort said, "This decision demonstrates the council's commitment to support local business and protect the economic future of the region." https://www.facebook.com/clarecountycouncil/photos/a.1621191311486409.1073741828.1613474145591459/2008181416120728/?type=3&theater POTUS had previously attempted to receive permission to construct a 2.8km sea defence, which would have weighed approximately 200,000 tonnes. However, this application was immediately met with fierce opposed, before being abandoned.
