Saverin was part of an unsuccessful consortium bid to buy Chelsea in 2022; this time the money has landed at Anfield instead.

Liverpool’s owners have agreed to sell a minority Liverpool stake to a consortium that includes Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Fenway Sports Group, the US-based group that owns the Premier League club, said it had entered a definitive agreement with 1892 Holdings, a consortium led and managed by Amit Bhatia, the son-in-law of steel billionaire Lakshmi Mittal, that also features Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, The Journal reported.
It is understood the stake sits somewhere between 30% and one third of the club. Liverpool confirmed the investment came from Bhatia and the Mittal Family Trusts, from K5 Sports with Bezos as lead investor, and from EE Capital, the family office of Elaine and Eduardo Saverin, The 42 reported.
Bezos is not expected to join Liverpool’s expanded board, which will reportedly feature Bhatia as vice-chairman, with K5 Sports founder Bryan Baum also set to become a board member.
