What a lovely gesture…
Commentator Clive Tyldesley has donated his match commentary notes from his 20th and final Champions League Final to be auctioned off for the family of injured Liverpool fan Sean Cox.
The news was revealed by Head of Club and Supporter Liaison at Liverpool FC Tony Barrett who praised the veteran commentator for his generosity.
“One of the very best in the business and one of the nicest fellas around,” Barrett said.
“Clive has donated his final Champions League commentary notes so they can be auctioned to raise funds for the family of Sean Cox. The exact details are still to be finalised but what a magnificent gesture.”

Dad-of-three Cox suffered severe head injuries following an attack prior to Liverpools Champions League semi-final clash with Roma. He remains in hospital at Walton Neurological Centre in Liverpool.
Cox, from Dunboyne in Meath, sustained a severe bleed on his brain and underwent a major operation before he was put into an induced coma.
Italian nationals Filippo Lombardi and Daniele Sciusco were charged with violent disorder after the Champions League semi-final between the clubs on Tuesday, 24 April.
