Alan Pardew will be in the hot seat for the first time at St James’ Park on Saturday as Newcastle play host to Liverpool.

Roy Hodgson’s side are slowly building momentum in the league and have the added bonus of Fernando Torres back to action after he wet the baby’s head.

With Newcastle in possible disarray on Saturday and Torres itching to find the net, go for a Liverpool win and the Spaniard to score at anytime in the game at 13/5.

In racing, there’s top quality jumps action at Cheltenham on Saturday.

Paul Nicholls should have a successful day with Master Minded in the Tingle Creek Chase but his runner in the 3.05, SILVINIACO CONTI, is the one to side with.

Cue Card will prove strong opposition but the Nicholls runner is unbeaten in five starts and has this grade perfected already.

Silviniaco Conti is a 3/1 chance for that event.

It’s a busy weekend in rugby with Heineken Cup action the main focus.

Munster will welcome the Ospreys to Thomond Park on Sunday and field an experienced side with plenty in reserve if need, with Paul O’Connell warming the bench.

The handicap looks good value for the Irish province, 10/11 to win -8 points.
