A pretty penny for the Rebel County.
Dublin-based insurance brokers Chill Insurance have renewed their sponsorship deal with Cork GAA, in a move that will see last year’s Munster Football champions take in a whopping seven figures.
The deal will partner Ireland’s largest independent insurance company with Cork’s senior and under-21s football and hurling teams for the next three years.
While the deal’s specific figure will not be released by Cork County Board (sponsorship deals are viewed as commercially sensitive by the GAA), it has been confirmed that it is the second biggest sponsorship deal in the GAA after AIG’s partnership with Dublin.
Putting aside any Dublin-Cork rivalry, Cork County Board chairman Gerard Lane said: “Chill Insurance is a strong Irish business, with the same determination to succeed as our players, so it is a good day for Cork GAA all round.”
The O’Neill’s jersey goes on sale today.
