GAA Allianz Partnership To Continue Despite Player Protests

The GAA Allianz partnership will continue after the Association’s Management Committee and Central Council “overwhelmingly agreed” on Saturday to maintain the long-running sponsorship deal, following renewed concerns raised by Tyrone GAA.

Why the GAA Allianz deal survived

Confirming the outcome, the GAA said in a statement:

“Following a comprehensive discussion, it was overwhelmingly agreed to endorse the decision taken last December to adopt the recommendation of the Ethics and Integrity Commission report and to maintain this partnership.”

Protests have been a recurring feature at championship games this year, with one demonstration disrupting the GAA’s annual Congress at Croke Park in February. As RTÉ reported, the issue was revisited after correspondence from Tyrone, but the outcome leaves the GAA Allianz arrangement firmly in place for now.
