England were strong favourites to see Iceland off, despite the side’s impressive run of results in the group stages – including a draw with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
Roy Hodgson’s men were quickly shown that any arrogance was deeply misplaced as Wayne Rooney’s early penalty was cancelled out just minutes later by a Sigurdsson equaliser.
It’s not that goal we’re interested in, but the finish of Kolbein Sigthorsson which squeezed past Joe Hart and into the corner.
