Nike has released a new advert featuring narration from former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick with the message: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
Nike released an image on Monday of Kaepernick as part of their new “Just Do It” campaign and people wondered what more was to come. Now, a new two minute ad has dropped, narrated by Kaepernick and featuring some of Nike’s highest profile athletes including Lebron James and Serena Williams.
Both Nike and Kaepernick shared the video on their social platforms on Wednesday evening.
Kaepernick is only shown twice in the ad, once in the middle and in the closing seconds. He is not wearing football gear, but instead a jumper and coat. The ad finishes with the words: “It’s only crazy until you do it. Just do it.”

Kaepernick was the first NFL player to kneel during the national anthem to highlight racial injustice and police brutality. The actions had a polarising response from those who respect what Kaepernick is doing to those who claim he is disrespecting the military, including President Trump.
Following the release of the initial ad on Monday, people have been promising to boycott Nike products in protest and some even going as far as burning Nike clothing… which they’d already bought.
The ad will run during Thursday’s NFL opener between the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.
