Has The Notorious genuinely retired?
At first, many people thought Conor McGregor’s retirement tweet was a joke, especially when Nate Diaz was joining in on the fun, but when John Kavanagh and respected MMA journalist Ariel Helwani got involved, people started to fear the worst.
UFC President Dana White has since confirmed that the featherweight champion has been pulled from UFC 200, with McGregor himself very bluntly refusing an interview to explain his retirement announcement.
Here is the Twitter reaction to the news that has dominated the UFC.
@TheNotoriousMMA Westmeath will be out of the championship and you've pulled out of 200, what are me and the lads meant to do in July now

Has Roddy Doyle done an ode to @TheNotoriousMMA yet? The internet would explode beyond possible repair if that landed.

Can I ask that people kindly stop phoning the Áras asking if it's true that Conor McGregor is retiring early? Thanks.
