Legends.
On Tuesday, Senegal beat Poland 2-1 of their opening game in the World Cup finals.
They played an exciting, fast-paced brand of football, and a number of fans fell in love with them from the first whistle.
And it’s easy to see why.
You could say that they tick all of the same boxes that Ireland do at a major tournament:
- They caused a fairly big upset
- They wear green
- They fought off a late scare with some brilliant/frantic defending
And most importantly: their fans are absolute legends.
While the Senegalese supporters could have been forgiven for going on a wild party the second the match ended, instead they did something far better.
Probably still on a high following a historic victory, they decided to clean up after themselves in the stadium.
Have a look for yourself here:

That is absolutely class.
While we’d love to give the Senegalese fans all the credit here, we’re going to have to be a tiny bit selfish, and claim that we may have had a slight influence on them.
Just two years ago, the Irish fans chanted “Clean up for the boys in green”, as they picked rubbish up off the streets of France.

Better days…
We don’t know about you, but we think there’s enough similarities here for us to be die-hard Senegal fans for the remainder of the tournament.
Come on the lads!
