This is quite the coup for Nemo Rangers.

This is quite the coup for Nemo Rangers.

The Evening Echo have today revealed that the Kerry legend has agreed a transfer to the club based in the south side of Cork city, a transfer that should be confirmed by tomorrow afternoon providing there are no late hiccups.

Ó Sé has played football with his native Gaeltacht club in Kerry for all of his career to date but having been based in Cork as a teacher in Fermoy and having lived in Broadale for years, he has finally agreed to play football in the Rebel County and will no doubt be a serious addition to the Nemo ranks in 2015.

At 36 years of age Ó Sé is not getting any younger, but it’s only a year since he left the inter-county set-up and the five-time All-Ireland winner and former Footballer of the Year will have plenty to offer a side that last won the Cork senior title in 2010 and claimed an All-Ireland club title as recently as 2003.

Speaking to the Evening Echo, Nemo secretary Bernadette Allen said: “I can confirm that Tomás Ó Sé’s transfer forms have been put through to Cork County Board and he will be a Nemo Rangers player, hopefully by tomorrow afternoon latest, provided there are no late hiccups which shouldn’t be the case.

“There is obviously a process when it comes to these things and all parties involved are very much respected by our club but his transfer forms have gone to our county board.

“This usually takes around seven days and should be through, maybe today, but certainly by tomorrow.

“Tomás will be a huge addition to our club and his experience will be invaluable.”
