Troy Parrott Helps AZ Alkmaar Win Netherlands Super Cup

Parrott, introduced at half-time in place of Billy van Duijl, watched on as goals from Mexx Meerdink, Weslley Patati, Elijah Dijkstra and Ro-Zangelo Daal sealed the trophy on the beaten hosts’ own patch. The result was rarely in doubt after PSV were reduced to ten men as early as the ninth minute, when Joey Veerman was sent off.

It is a first piece of silverware of the new Dutch season for AZ, and another marker of Parrott’s standing as one of the brightest talents in the current Republic of Ireland set-up.

The Dublin-born forward has made a big impact in the Eredivisie since joining AZ in 2024, and he is now attracting interest from elsewhere. West Ham, Real Betis and Ajax have all reportedly been monitoring the Ireland international’s situation ahead of the transfer deadline.
