Sure let them away at it, they’ll sort it out amongst themselves.
Brawls in ice-hockey are as common as ‘shemozzles’ or ‘melees’ in GAA, so it was no real surprise when a bit of aggro broke out in the game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Washington Capitals last night.
What caused a bit of a stir, however, was a set-to between the respective goalies on both sides as Philadelphia goalie Ray Emery skated the entire length on the rink to have a few digs at his opposite number Braden Holtby.
Holtby had little interest in becoming involved but he had no real option but to defend himself when Emery, who has a reputation for enjoying the physical side of things, descended upon him and starting unloading a barrage of punches.
The officials let them at it for a minute or so while rows broke out elsewhere and you would think that somebody should really be doing something about until remembering that this is ice-hockey after all.
Where are these guys when you need them?
