The Irish international rules team head Down Under later this month to take on their Australian counterparts and with the Aussies seemingly taking it seriously this time, Paul Earley’s side are going to have to be in as good a shape as they can possibly be if they’re going to take home the spoils.

Before he heads off with the rest of the squad, Tyrone’s Mattie Donnelly is putting the hours in the gym and thanks to Pauric Grimes from The Edge fitness centre in Augher, we got an insight into what he’s been up to.

If you fancy replicating what Mattie was doing in the video above, the workout included the following exercises and was repeated four times.

  • 60kg Farmers walk x2
  • 60 kg Prowler run x4
  • Resistance sprint x6

Like we said, we’re wrecked just watching it. Here’s hoping it helps Mattie go the extra mile while helping Ireland to a resounding victory Down Under a little later this month.

Hat-tip to Pauric Grimes for sending this one our way
