Dana White also spoke about his most recent conversations with Conor.

There is no news like good news, but there is no publicity like free publicity.

While breaking any number of laws in New York earlier this week, McGregor has also put the wheels in motion for the publicity campaign for an eventual fight against the new lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Following his win on Saturday night, during the post-fight press conference Khabib asked about whether or not he thinks any upcoming fight he might have with McGregor will undoubtedly become the biggest in UFC history, and Nurmagomedov is more than aware of the circumstances that the last week have put him in:

“They already promote this fight. What do you think? You think it’s going to be big fight? I hope he’s going to fight. We have to fight. Make world tour everywhere like Tokyo, Moscow, Dublin, Los Angeles, Rio.”

“Big world tour, promote this fight and fight at the end of the year. Biggest arena in the world, Madison Square Garden. Maybe in Zaire or the Phillipines, doesn’t matter.”

“I’m here. You want to become lightweight champion, you have to fight with me. Now, no more this old fake champions. You guys remember when he put tweet, ‘beg me’. Please, beg me.”

Also as part of that same post-fight conference, Dana White told the press that he had been since been talking to McGregor, and that their conversations weren’t quite was pessimistic as they had been earlier in the week, but he also denied that he had any idea of what McGregor was going to do, or even that he was in New York at the time:

“He didn’t come to New York to do anything with me. He jumped on a plane with those guys to come to New York for the Khabib thing. That’s not true. He came to New York for Khabib. He didn’t come here to meet me. I didn’t even know Conor was here. There were a couple of guys at the press conference that were acting like they knew something like he was coming here. So no, I didn’t know anything about him coming here.”

You can see Dana answer that question in the video above from the 00:25:30 mark.
