Ireland is to be included in their ‘Black Friday’ promotion, as part of what appears to be an international plan.

‘Black Friday’ which always falls on the first Friday after Thanksgiving, traditionally marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the United States.

Companies use the day, the biggest shopping day of the American calender, to offer various promotions and discounts to promote use of the Thanksgiving weekend for shopping.

Apple are no different, offering discounts of over $100 on iMacs, while encouraging resellers to offer even larger discounts.

This year they have decided to extend their promotion outside of the United States.

“Come back to the Apple Online Store this Friday for a special one-day-only shopping event,” said a statement on Apple Ireland’s website.

“You’ll find dozens of great iPad, iPhone and Mac gifts for everyone on your list. Mark your calendars now. And until then, get started by browsing the Apple Online Store for great ideas.”
