Is it just us or is there world of tech been moving phenomenally fast in the past three to four years?

Not a week seems to go by without another invention that makes us feel that we’re beginning to enter an era that would’ve been described as ‘sci-fi’ as little as fifteen years ago, with everything from 3D TV’s and Augmented Reality becoming ever-present.

For their part, South Korean conglomerate Hyundai have unveiled another glimpse of our encroaching future – a 70-inch Table Monitor.

Sadly, aside from the above mock-up, little is known about the Hyundai IT invention, both in terms of technical specifications and its potential price point (though we imagine it’ll be very, very expensive). What we’re basically dealing with is a giant iPhone you can eat your breakfast on, or instead use for a range of multi-tasking Multitouch capabilities – whichever suits.

Hyundai have confirmed that the Table Monitor features a 1080 resolution monitor and is capable of multi-touch inputs and of being used as a regular TV.

The device was first demoed at the Korea Electronics Show this week at the KINTEX Exhibition Centre and has tech purists aflutter over whether or not the Korean giants plan to launch the product in the near future or whether or not it is a mere prototype.

So just what does Hyundai IT plan to use their giant iPhone/Table Monitor for? Multi-purpose business-related activities? Showing off to friends about how impossible it is to watch YouTube videos properly? Sadly, Hyundai isn’t saying but either way, we know this – the future has giant 70-inch table monitors, and we want one.
