Future Tech: Is this the Samsung Nexus Prime?

That blurry photo you see? That's not just any blurry photo, that's a blurry snap of Samsung's iPhone-challenging Nexus Prime.

Here at JOE, we don’t really care for the incredibly litigious war between Samsung and Apple, though we were impressed that Samsung began moves to block the iPhone 4S in Italy and France just hours after its unveiling.

If you ask us, the war shouldn’t be fought in courtrooms, it should be fought in tech stores. That’s why after the 4S received a lukewarm response (and Apple shares suffered a drop), everyone immediately knew that the tech giants had given up some momentum to their rivals, who would have at least 12 months to push on with never-before-seen features. If you believe the rumours, the next iPhone might not even be here until 2013.

As you can below, the first image of Samsung’s forthcoming powerhouse, the Nexus Prime, has leaked online and by all accounts, this beast of a handset should give plenty of Apple fanboys food for thought.

Granted, this is just one corner of the phone, but we’re sure the rest is lovely

As you can see from the leaked pic, the leaker has thankfully divulged some of the specs for the handset, which is positioned as Google’s flagship Android Honeycomb device.

The phone appears as though it will have a huge 4.6″ AMOLED display with 320ppi and 1280×720 resolution while most surprisingly, it appears as though it won’t have any keys on its front face whatsoever.

Want to know more? So do we but we won’t have to wait long – the Nexus Prime will be officially unveiled next Tuesday at Samsung’s ‘Mobile Unpacked’ event. If Apple have been complacent with the 4S, wait until the world gets a glimpse of its new rival…
