It’s not long until FIFA 14 is released, but Limerick’s Shane Tracy might just have pulled ahead in the voting to be on the cover
Jack Wilshere, one of Arsenal’s young guns, has given his backing to Airtricity League star Shane Tracy of Limerick FC to make it to the cover of a special edition of EA’s FIFA 14 for Ireland.
Tracy’s sister plays for the Arsenal women’s side, and Shane himself played for the youth team and reserves at the London side before returning to Ireland to play for Limerick according to Limerick Leader.

Lionel Messi will appear as the cover star in every edition around the globe, but there’s an opportunity for Shane, as well as ten other Airtricity League players who are in the running to accompany him on the special edition of the cover. The two winning players will be unveiled on Wednesday 25th of September, and you can download it via easportsfootball.com from Friday 27th.
The players in the running are Luke Byrne (Bohemians FC), Jason Byrne (Bray Wanderers FC), Darryl Horgan (Cork City FC), Rory Patterson (Derry City FC), Declan (Fabio) O’Brien (Drogheda United), Patrick Hoban (Dundalk FC), Ronan Finn (Shamrock Rovers), Glen Cronin (Shelbourne FC), Rafael Cretaro (Sligo Rovers), Killian Brennan (St Patrick’s Athletic) and Craig Walsh (UCD).
