By Lucifer’s beard! Everybody’s favourite Simpsons bad guy - Sideshow Bob aka Frasier aka Kelsey Grammer - has just been announced as the chief villain in the new Transformers 4 film.

Joining up with next big Irish star Jack Reynor, Grammer is on board as Harold Attinger, a shneaky, no-good counter-operative. Unfortunately this means he won’t be playing or voicing a giant nasty robot but a completely human character. Boooooo.

We’re sure director Michael Bay will still find some way to use computer graphics on him, maybe give him a CGI tie for his suit, as well as possibly draping him in an American flag while the sun sets and/or explodes in slow-motion behind him.

Here’s Grammer in one of his greatest roles to date, a clip that no doubt convinced Bay to cast him as a bad-ass bad guy:

Transformers 4 is directed by Michael Bay and will star Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and Stanley Tucci, and will open in Ireland in June 2014.
