Bayern Munich’s possession and passing stats tonight against Arsenal were insane

Even allowing for playing against 10 men, these numbers are off the charts.

As some of the pundits are so fond of saying, the most important statistic tonight was the scoreline, and with the game ending 2-0 to Bayern Munich, Arsenal are more than likely on their way out of the 2013-14 Champions League.

But a quick look at the key stats from tonight’s game (passing attempts and completions, possession and territory) all show that the Germans completely dominated this game.

Yes, Arsenal were down to 10 men for the best part of an hour but even so, this level of dominance was extraordinary. That Arsenal only conceded two must go down as some sort of miracle.

For example, last night, also against 10 men of Manchester City for a long spell, Barcelona had less passes (795/860) and less possession 68.4 per cent), and they are the kings of those stats.
