RTE presenter Craig Doyle has confirmed he is quitting RTE and will take up a new role with BT Sport.
The father-of-four has and biggest trending Irish celebrity of 2012 revealed that he will not be appearing on RTE screens this year and will instead anchor BT’s coverage of 69 live rugby games from the Aviva Premiership with former England players Lawrence Dallaglio and Matt Dawson.
The 41 year-old is currently filling in for Ryan Tubridy on his 2FM slot and had been hinting at a change ever since the latest season of the Craig Doyle Show came to an end.
“I won’t be coming back. I hinted at that back in December on the chat show because I am heading back across the water,” he told The Sun.
“I will be spending an awful lot of time there and because of that I won’t really be able to do a chat show here week in, week out.”
Fare thee well Craig, it was good – or insert which ever word here you feel is appropriate – while it lasted.
