Brave young Dubliner suffering from rare bowel condition gets the chance to meet and greet his Chelsea FC heroes

A special boy meets the Special One on his special day...

JOE

Prepare to have your cockles well and truly warmed by this festive tale of good will.

14 year old Oran Tully has been in and out of hospital since an early age as he suffers from a rare bowel condition. That hasn’t stopped the young Dubliner from living life to its absolute fullest, however, as the once wheelchair-bound Oran is a huge footballing fanatic with Chelsea FC the Premier League club that is closest to his heart.

As part of Sky Sports’ My Special Day series, they recently invited Oran to take part in a special extended Christmas episode.

As you can see from the great video below, Oran Tully is undoubtedly a charming wee lad who may be a small guy but, from the heart-warming interactions with his footballing heroes, it’s clear that he has a huge personality and probably even knows more about the team than some of the players themselves.

And, seeing as the Dubliner is a huge Chelsea fan, it’s unsurprising that his Special Day took place at Stamford Bridge. Expecting to only meet his hero John Terry, young Oran was in for a much, much bigger treat than he ever could have dreamed of.

The Skerries boy attended the team’s training, watched the Blues beat Schalke 3 – 0, before meeting all the team, including manager Jose Mourinho and owner Roman Abramovich – an incredible example of opportunistic interviewing on the part of the young Dubliner, as the elusive elusive Russian has not spoken publically since 2003…

Fair play Oran and congrats on your cracking day out again.
