Tevez is understood to be on his way to Argentina to assist with the investigation into the kidnapping, which is believed to have taken place on the outskirts of Buenos Aires this morning.

According to a report in La Nacion, a car belonging to Juan Alberto Cabral, the father of Carlos Tevez, was intercepted by criminals in Moron, in the outskirts of Buenos Aires at 7am this morning.

It is believed that the criminals contacted Cabral’s family with a ransom request and then made a second request for a sum vastly larger than the original request, which would appear to indicate that they weren’t originally aware of Cabral’s connection to the Juventus striker.
