Coffee addicts rejoice! Soon you’ll be able to just inhale your caffeine hit

Need a caffeine hit but don’t have time for a cup of tea or coffee? Don’t worry, soon you’ll be able to inhale it. Yes, really.

The Irish Sun reports that scientists have come up with the ultimate way to get your caffeine hit – simply inhale it and feel the perky benefits immediately.

The lemon and lime flavoured “shot” of caffeine has been flying off the shelves in America, and it is expected to be just as popular when it is launched in Europe. Known as the Aeroshot, the small, lipstick-sized tube contains a powerful hit of caffeine. When the hit is inhaled, users instantly feel buzzed and more awake.

The creator of this random invention is Harvard-based Professor David Edwards. He said that the Aeroshot has the same amount of caffeine as a large cup of coffee and even contains the essential B vitamins that you would get from drinking an actual cup of coffee or tea.

“I had the idea that we might breathe foods since I’ve done  a lot of work over the last 10 or 15 years on medical aerosols,” he said.

Hmm…breathing caffeine. Good idea or bad idea? What if people start overdosing on the stuff?

Apparently critics have already cited concerns that the small inhalable portions of caffeine will be misused and abused by coffee addicts.

“If you want ten cups of coffee, it will probably take you a couple of hours to get through all that coffee with the volume you are drinking,” said Dr Lisa Ganjhu, a critic of the shots.

“With these inhale caffeine canisters you can get that in ten of those little canisters – so you just puff away and you could be getting all of that within the hour,” she added.

Imagine when these things are launched over here – sure we’ll all be running around the place on a major caffeine high. Ireland will be the most productive country in the world for a few hours before the shakes kick in.

Inhalable caffeine – good idea or bad idea? Would you try it?
