The Ballon d’Or winner doesn’t want no trouble now, ya hear?

Having hinted strongly at a return to Manchester United and called into question the transfer dealings of Florentino Perez, Cristiano Ronaldo tweeted this evening to say that he had been misinterpreted.

Ronaldo was said to be unhappy that both Xabi Alonso and Angel di Maria had followed Mesut Ozil out of the Bernabeu, with Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez brought in to the club this summer.

Perez came out on Friday and said that di Maria’s wage demands were exhorbitant and caused Ronaldo to backtrack, despite reports that he’s growing unhappy in Spain and wants to return to England.

‘My declarations have been misinterpreted. I heard what my President had to say yesterday and I’m 100% with him,’ tweeted the former United star.

‘The new players (James & Kroos) are top players! With their arrival we’ve completed a great squad. Hala Madrid!’
