The former Ireland winger has turned down the chance to return home - for now.

Former Republic of Ireland winger Damien Duff will move to the Australian A-League later this summer, with newly renamed Melbourne City his chosen destination. Manchester City's owners from the Middle East have taken over the current Melbourne Heart, and hope to seal a name change in time for next season. Heart are currently bottom of the A-League. Duff has been linked with a return to Ireland and role with Bray Wanderers, but is now set to seal a lucrative pay packet in Australia as Melbourne City's first major signing. The 35-year-old, who made 11 Premier League appearances for Fulham last season, will take a summer break before joining the club after the World Cup Finals.
