Wayne Rooney has used his Twitter account to tell the world that he's done something about his thinning hairline.
You'd think that Sir Alex Ferguson would've banned Rooney from twitter by now, given the tendency of football stars to share stuff with the world that they really shouldn't.
But in this case it seems like the Man U striker has used the access to 160 characters or less not to have a slanging match with a fan but to get something off his chest - or rather to talk about what's going on on top of his head.
On Friday the Sun printed pictures of him leaving the Harley Street Hair Clinic in London. Rooney has been visibly losing his hair for some time, and it would appear he'd had enough and decided to do something about it.
Quite what method he's used is not yet clear, and with all methods it'll take a good few months for the full affects to be seen, but it's not like he can't afford the expensive treatment.
As he tweeted: "Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25 why not. I'm delighted with the result."
Of course, someone could have hacked into his account (or just grabbed his smartphone off him and sent the message) but for now, this looks genuine (for a start, the punctuation isn't quite right).
In a separate tweet he suggested that it was "a bit bruised and swollen" and joked "Anyone recommend any good hair gel. Haha".
He also suggested that his followers should get #hairwego to trend on Twitter today.
