It’s not often we commend Jeremy Clarkson on something, but well-done sir on the new Forza advert. Well-done indeed.
“We are an endangered species, you and I.”
What a way to start off the new Forza ad that was only released today. Jeremy Clarkson is the man that consoles us petrol heads of the one thing we already knew - we’re endangered.
These days, mpg (miles per gallon) is much more important than mph (miles per hour) and 0 to 60 means nothing compared to ‘6-hour full recharge’, whatever the bloody hell that means.
The lanky string of ‘English gentleman’, that is Clarkson, narrates over one of the coolest motoring adverts that has happened this side of Christmas. In it we see a random bloke, who is stuck in traffic, as he decides that enough is enough and his lust for speed and horsepower takes over.
To his, ahem, ‘surprise’ an Aston Martin DB9 is just sitting there, asking for a rev. So, the random bloke doesn’t disappoint as he rips it around some streets for the ‘live action trailer’ of Forza Motorsport 4, which is released on the Xbox 360 on Friday week.
For once we can honestly say the absence of Clarkson in the video would have ultimately taken away from the sleek, suave, manly elegance that is encapsulated in the trailer. Would it be wrong of you to shed a tear after the video is over? Eh, of course it would, but you wouldn’t be lambasted for thinking of welling up, just a touch.
