Last time we checked, 20million into 6.6million doesn’t go. The London Olympic Games 2012 has been ridiculed for its oversubscribed ticketing system.
A quarter of a million people who applied for Olympic Games tickets have missed out completely and, who could blame them, they’re furious.
The London 2012 Organising Committee received more than 20million requests for just 6.6million seats.
The system for booking tickets has been criticised by applicants not just for making it difficult to apply but also because it was designed so that wealthier people could apply for bulks of tickets.
Stumping up the cash is what it’s all about apparently, however, the British Government applied for 9,000 tickets for civil servants and other officials involved in bidding and preparing for the Games.
Twitter users have been lambasting the entire process. Here’s what Londoner Timothy Maughan tweeted:
So, after paying towards #London2012 Olympic games through my tax; I have f*** all tickets from a £1,200 application! Thanks a bunch
