The places on the podium were up for grabs in the Azores on the weekend, and it took some spectacular dives to get the winners there

Gary Hunt, Orlando Duque and Jonathan Paredes made it to the top of the pile on Saturday, in some difficult conditions which meant there was an extremely early start time for all the athletes at 5am.

With the win on Saturday, Gary Hunt jumps to the top of the rankings, just above Artem Silchenko of Russia, for whom something was most certainly not rotten in the state of Denmark, after he had an almost flawless performance at the last stop in Copenhagen.

Hunt performed some fantastic stunts, in particular pulling off an incredible final dive, while Silchenko, who finished fourth today, won’t be far behind for the rest of the season we imagine.

There was one injury to Kent De Mond, who had to be taken to hospital after briefly falling unconscious from the impact of one of the dives, but he’s fine and will be back in top form for the next stop in Italy.

Keep an eye on the Red Bull site for more info, and JOE for more pics and videos as we get our grubby mitts on them.
