GIF: Chelsea under-21 star Lewis Baker scores with an outrageous back-flick against Arsenal
That’s just fabulous from the Baker boy.
The eyes of football fans were on events in the Champions League semi-finals in Madrid this week, but the goal of the week was scored on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium, where the Arsenal under-21s were hosting their Chelsea counterparts.
The Blues’ senior side have an excellent record in the ground of late and their under-21s continued that trend with a 2-1 victory, thanks in no small part to an outrageous goal by midfielder Lewis Baker that levelled the scores at one apiece before a late Chelsea winner.
With a right-wing cross landing just behind him as he arrived into the box at pace, Baker was able to adjust his feet brilliantly and flick the ball while on the turn, with the Arsenal ‘keeper unable to react on time as it flew past him into the net.
