Portugal had the better of it by and large and their most potent form of attack was crosses from the wing so it was of no surprise that this was how they broke the deadlock and who better to have meet the cross only the in-form Real Madrid man.

With eight minutes to go another ball was whipped in invitingly for Ronnie to fling himself at, bravely getting in ahead of the attentions of close Swedish attention to give the the Portuguese the decisive goal in the game.
