The lads at Fifa have got their balls out at last and here’s who will play who at next year’s festival of football in Brazil.
Before the draw began, we had a very good luck at this again and we still weren’t sure who would be playing. Now, after a draw involving Pele, Ronaldo and way, way too much faffing, we know what the eight groups will be at next year’s World Cup.
The headline news is the traditional Group of Death, which this time is Group D, featuring Uruguay, Italy, England and Costa Rica. It’s in Manaus too, which is in the Amazon, and boiling hot and humid. The tabloids will be fuming tomorrow.
Group B isn’t too shabby either, with Spain, Holland, Chile and Australia while the easiest group is either Group E or Group H, as you see below.
