Just when you think RTÉ have cornered the market in shareable clips from their World Cup coverage (cheers Eamon, the gift that keeps on giving), along come ITV and Martin O’Neill in particular.
Eager to prove that he wasn’t always the bookish l00king sort who sits on the bench shouting instructions, O’Neill pointed out to the two World Cup winners to his left – Patrick Vieira and Fabio Cannavaro – that he was in possession of not one but two European Cup medals.
And he didn’t always wear glasses.
