Armagh GAA have been given a huge financial boost today after Irish bookmaker Boylesports paid the €5,000 fine that was handed to them for their part in the pre-match brawl with Cavan last weekend.

The owner of the bookies, John Boyle, is a native of the Orchard County and he’s generously stepped in and covered the fine.

A spokesperson from the Armagh County Board said: “The Management Committee of Armagh GAA would like to thank John Boyle and Boylesports for helping us out of this financial predicament. Now that the fine has been paid, we can focus solely on football matters and hopefully progress further throughout this year’s championship.”

Armagh’s next fixture is the Ulster semi final on June 28th when they’ll face either Tyrone or Monaghan.

Hat-tip to Boylesports.
