The Colombian only joined Monaco last summer and has four years left on his contract.

James Rodriguez has reportedly told Monaco he will never play for them again as he looks to seal a €90m move to Real Madrid.

The playmaker, top scorer at this summer’s World Cup with six goals, has reportedly flown from Medellin to Madrid to discuss terms.

Should he complete the move, Rodriguez is likely to become the fourth most expensive player of all time after Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.
