JOE

One JOE’s bid to find love begins with Intro.ie, and he’s pleasantly surprised by how relaxed and easy the whole thing was.

Imagine a blind date crossed with a prostate exam. That’s how much I was looking forward to my first meeting with Intro.ie. That wasn’t because I wasn’t really on the look out for love (I was) or that the folks in the office hadn’t be superb to deal with before I popped in (they were).

It’s just I’m an Irish lad and, let’s face it, we’re not great at this sort of thing. That’s probably why I’m on my todd and making use of the help of Intro.ie in the first place. If I was American I’d probably call it a ‘cycle of behaviour’ but I’m Irish so ‘sure we’ll give it a lash’ is my motto.

So I headed into Dawson Street to meet Rena, who you may remember from this video.

Rena was sound and the offices were nice and relaxed and I have to say there was no stress once we got talking. Rena just asked me a few questions about what sort of person I am, what sort of person I was looking for, nothing too personal or intimidating.

When it was done I handed over my few bob and was told the good folks at Intro would be in touch.

Sure enough a couple of weeks later I got a buzz from them about Catherine. She sounded perfect, I wanted a girl 27-33, tall, athletic, good education and ambitious, preferably a nonsmoker and blonde if at all possible. Catherine ticked all the boxes so I agreed to meet her. Intro don’t pass on phone numbers – they organise the date entirely and let you know where to go etc – so the next step is meeting Catherine, this weekend.

I’ll have an update for you on how it all went next week.

Names have been changed to protect identities.
