The BBC have announced that there will be a trio of pundits brought in to replace Alan Hansen and they will be Rio Ferdinand, Phil Neville and Ruud Gullit.
This may come as a big disappointment to many of you who were less than impressed by Phil Neville’s analytical acumen at this year World Cup.
The BBC received more than four hundred complaints after England played Italy with Neville giving what can only be described as a droll commentary.
This will be the 50th year of the show and will be the first for 22 years without Alan Hansen, who retired after this year’s World Cup in Brazil.
Ferdinand, Gullit and Neville will join Robbie Savage, Alan Shearer, Danny Murphy and Gary Lineker in the studio. The commentary will be provided by Guy Mowbray, Steve Wilson, Jonathan Pearce, Simon Brotherton, Steve Bower and the ever faithful John Motson.
