Strange things are happening outside of the Dáil this afternoon it seems as Kildare Street has been closed off because of a man making a protest while standing on the roof of his van.
As we write, it seems as if the man in question has been arrested, having brought things to a standstill by protesting outside government buildings and reportedly pouring liquid over himself while standing on the roof of his van.
It has been suggested that he was threatening to set himself on fire, but after discussions with the Gardai, it is believed he came down from the roof of his own accord before being hauled away.

It’s not the most traditional protest we’ve ever heard of, but he certainly got the publicity he was seeking and hopefully the matter will be resolved without too much difficulty from the perspective of the Gardai or the protestor himself.
Hat-tip to Johnny Fallon for his help with this one.
