Bebe apparently made a hasty exit from United’s training ground in order to avoid getting caught by debt collectors

One of the strangest signings ever made by Manchester United is undoubtedly Portuguese winger Bebe, who has barely played a game for the Premier League champions. However it seems that there was a great deal of interest in him during the week, but unfortunately it wasn’t from another football club.

According to Goal.com, the Portuguese was trying to avoid a few debt collectors, who showed up at the training ground looking for him, and apparently jumped in the boot of a team mate’s car to make a getaway and avoid being seen.

The debt collectors were initially refused entrance to the training ground, but got the police involved at that point so they could gain access and have a snoop around for the player.

The police stated that “shortly before 11am on Saturday 13 July 2013, police were called to a training complex on Isherwood Road, Carrington. Officers attended and established the matter was a civil one that is now being dealt with by the relevant parties.”

Bebe had been training earlier that day with the U21s after spending last season back on loan in Portugal, but the bailiffs never got their hands on him.
