Donegal gaffer Jim McGuinness has denied that his decision to train his team behind closed doors was due to a recent visit from former Derry star Joe Brolly.
Suggestions that the RTE GAA pundit has been operating as a "spy" acting on behalf of the Dublin camp have been rubbished by McGuinness after the former All-Star showed up at a recent Donegal training session ahead of their All-Ireland semi-final clash with the Dubs on Sunday week.
"Not all sessions are behind closed doors,” McGuinness said. “We work one night on fitness and one night on tactical stuff, so the night Joe was in Letterkenny it was fitness, and this one was tactical.”
"You're not going to spend two nights in one week working on tactics. We have to look after the fitness as well. That's the approach we have taken all year."
The Donegal Democrat confirmed Brolly was an 'interested spectator' at Tuesday night’s training session in O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny.
