Mickey Moran has been forced to step aside as Leitrim football manager "due to health reasons", according to the Leitrim County Board.
A written statement from the board last night read: "Leitrim GAA regret that due to health reasons their senior football team manager, Mickey Moran has had to stand down from his position.
"All in Leitrim GAA fraternity wish him a speedy return to full health."
The Derry man was heading towards his fourth year with Leitrim but has now left his post at the Connacht side.
The former Derry player has managed Donegal, Mayo and Slgo during an illustrious career, in addition to being part of the Derry side that captured the All-Ireland title in 1993.
