NHL player tweets out incredible picture of his broken jaw
This looks awful. And painful. And awful painful.
Ice hockey players are known as hard b*stards for good reason. Their sport is insanely fast and even though they are well padded, and wear helmets, 12 massive lads with sticks, plus a bullet-like puck, on ice, is a recipe for serious accidents.
Once such incident befell Edmonton Oiler Sam Gagner at the weekend in a pre-season game against the Vancouver Canucks. Zack Kassian’s stick hit Gagner in the face, breaking his jaw.
And this, ladies and gentleman, is what your face looks like after getting your face broken by a hockey stick. The main pic shows what Sam normally looks like.
Thank you all for the support. Excited to come back stronger and hopefully better looking than a few days ago. pic.twitter.com/jyU91TMSuu

Kassian was hit with a five-game ban, Gagner faces a bit longer getting back on the ice, with the team ruling him out ‘indefinitely’.
We can certainly see why.
