Car buyers are catching on to online auctions in Ireland as Merlin Car Auctions will run an exclusively online car auction for the first time on their website next Monday.
The auction on Monday pushes the online initiative even further as the auction is exclusive to those online.
Merlin Car Auctions won the Innovation of the Year award at the Irish Motor Industry Awards last November for their Merlin Live Online facility, which allows interested parties to log in online to take part in auctions from their office, home or from abroad.
Merlin Motor Group Managing Director, David Byrne said, “We have invested a lot of time and commitment to making our website as accessible, interactive and user friendly as possible over the last year.
"We always try to push the boundaries to bring the best possible service to our customers. People are spending more and more time online to save the hassle of travelling.
"The Merlin Live Online option has become increasingly popular with auction buyers, so we decided to carry out this particular auction completely online.”
Over 100 vehicles will be available for auction online on Monday at 11am.
Lots include a large selection of ex-finance and ex-fleet vehicles. All cars will include a full and comprehensive engineer’s assessment available to view in advance of the sale.
