Of course bigger challenges lie in store for O’Neill than simply holding up a green jersey for a photographer, but the new Irish manager looks to be revelling in his role.
O’Neill will get to speak to the media properly for the first time this Saturday – his brief chat with Adrian Chiles on ITV last Tuesday hardly counts – and if this picture is anything to go by, he is every bit as enthusiastic as many Irish supporters have been since the news broke of the new management team.
