Pic: Can you spot what was wrong with this Leeds United player’s jersey yesterday?

The Leeds United away jersey is hardly a thing of beauty as it is, but Jason Pearce’s shirt attracted further attention for all the wrong reasons yesterday.

It was a very bad day at the office for Leeds United yesterday, with Brian McDermott’s side suffering a 6-0 tonking at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday in a game in which substitute Matt Smith was sent off a minute after coming on at half-time.

That wasn’t the only embarrassing thing to happen to the defeated side, however, as close-ups of defender Jason Pearce during the live broadcast of the game on Sky Sports yesterday revealed that he was wearing a replica shirt with the label still intact.

Pearce would probably be within his rights to blame the kitman for not seeing to it while preparing the kit in the first place, but we find it fairly amazing that Pearce failed to notice it either while putting it on in the first place or during the game itself when surely it must have been an annoying presence around his neck.

Having been part of a defence that conceded six goals, it’s hardly the worst thing to have happened to him yesterday, but it’s still a pretty glaring oversight nonetheless.
