Pic: Didi Hamann seems happy to wear the Ireland jersey he swapped with Matt Holland at the 2002 World Cup

We love Didi Hamann...

We love Didi Hamann…

The World Cup has sadly left us for another four years, however, the memories of Brazil 2014 will live long in the memory.

RVP’s header, our mancrush on James Rodriguez, Suarez being Suarez, Sabella doing his best Del Boy impression, Germany thumping Brazil and Kenny Cunningham’s eyebrows… ah memories.

JOE can still expertly recall the last World Cup that Ireland graced, it was 2002 in Japan and Korea for those who may have been living on the moon for the last 12 years, but this picture from Didi Hamann made us chuckle.

It seems that the ex-Liverpool, Newcastle and Bayern Munich midfielder made a beeline for Matt Holland’s jersey after that famous 1-1 draw in Niigata.

Ah, we’re all nostalgic now. If only we had some footage of that dramatic last minute goal and the scenes after it, oh wait…
